To spot or not to spot!

There’s those days that you just can’t get a spotter in the gym, you’re gym buddy won’t join you in the gym today, you just have to push it through! It’s dangerous business in the gym at times, especially when you’re pushing heavy weights and even more dangerous if you have a condition such as high blood pressure. You don’t want to be dropping 170lb on your head or chest, fracturing your sternum or deforming your face would be the last result you’d want from hitting the gym!

Personally I am pretty fit and healthy, so there are days when I’m in the gym alone and will push through my heaviest sets without a spotter. Like yesterday for example, I was in the gym and on my last working set (5th set, 2x warm-up, 3x working) and I was loaded up with 170lb on the bench, hitting the last few reps was a challenge, I knew that I’d drop it on myself if I didn’t persist through, it was a constant battle between win or die! I felt like a machine afterwards. 

can’t wait to start training in gymnastics, I want to be able to hold a handstand and do all kinda crazy stuff with my body!

At my gym I see the occasional girl that comes in all in short shorts, crop top, hair pinned up and with a ton of makeup on. Like bitch please, you’re here to train and not to look like some playboy bunny and just walk on the treadmill for an hour straight, go outside and take a fucking walk!

2012, new year, new you.

People are so critical and negative about people making a ‘new’ beginning in the new year. I find it so much easier to make a fresh start in a new week or new year or something like that, you plan for it and make sure you’re ready for it.

This week has been my new start, I’m back finishing my personal training course, back to the gym and boxing, new training regime and eating so much healthier and so much more than ever before. Packing in more carbs than a fat person will consume and triple the protein of what I was on before. I’m still finding myself so hungry and lacking the energy that I need, I honestly go through so much food it’s ridiculous!
